(Please be aware that logistical issues such as adverse weather, scheduling of other trips, fueling the vessel, availability of South Moresby Air float planes or any number of other complications may require alternate methods of getting you to or from the vessel. South Moresby Air Charter service however, is the preferred option. All trips in 2006 and 2007 were fly in ~ fly out.)

(Provided she's there and she's willing.)

Six-day tour: $1,650.00
Seaplane travel to and from the M.V. Island Bay: $300.00

Goods & Services Tax: $97.50 and a Parks Canada User Fee: $118.85 are additional costs
Total Cost: $2,166.35 (CDN$)

US$ rate
Due to daily fluctuations in the exchange rate for US currency the “Total Cost” quoted above is subject to change and will be adjusted to reflect the actual rate of exchange at the time of booking.

Fuel Surcharge
The fluctuating cost of fuel is a concern. In an ongoing effort to keep the cost of our trips as reasonable as possible, we have chosen to not increase rates this year but to keep as a possibility the application of a fuel surcharge if the cost of diesel fuel increases beyond $1.00 per litre at Queen Charlotte City. For every $.10 cent per litre increase above $1.00 per litre in the cost of marine diesel fuel at Queen Charlotte City expect a $12.00 per person surcharge to offset the additional cost of not only marine diesel fuel but also aviation gas and fuel cost increases passed on from all other suppliers.

Reservations
A $700.00 (CDN$ or US$) deposit is required to confirm your reservation with balance of payment due 90 days prior to departure date.

Payment
Payment can be made by cheque from a Canadian or an American bank or with an international money order in Canadian funds.

Information Package
After your booking is confirmed, you'll receive a package with information pertinent to your trip. This includes a great map of the Charlottes, a guide to the Queen Charlotte Islands, a list of stuff to bring and other trip planning resources. It also includes the ubiquitous 'liability release' which must be read, signed and returned prior to the trip.

Cancellations
Written notice of cancellation must be received. The following charges will apply:

  • More than 90 days prior to departure date: 100% of deposit
  • 90 - 45 days prior to departure date: 50% of the total amount payable
  • Less than 45 days prior to departure date: 100% of the total amount payable

Because of the small numbers involved in each trip (six maximum, usually four or five), a cancellation may put the trip in jeopardy for the remainder of the group. In fairness to all participants, no refunds can be provided if cancellation occurs within 45 days of trip departure. Having said that, we will make every attempt to fill your reserved space. If successful, 85% of the total amount payable will be refunded.
