Welcome to our 2014 season!

We offer safe, well designed, interesting and comfortable trips to Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve: "Place of Wonder", selected as one of National Geographic’s “Tours of a Lifetime! One of 50 of the Worlds Best Trips”.

We are a small family-run business and have been operating in Gwaii Haanas for thirty-three years. Since 1993 we have been offering mothership kayaking tours and have provided well over 900 passengers with a safe, well designed, interesting and comfortable alternative for exploring this remote part of the world. For the past twenty years our trips have been in the form of a six-day tour from the north to south (or vice versa), incorporating a seaplane flight over the park reserve.

In 2014, we're offering alternative formats to more conveniently accommodate varying time allowances and budgets. We will continue to offer some of our traditional six-day tours, but have added four and five day options as well.  It is our hope that providing a range of alternatives will better serve the broad range of people from around the globe, who want to explore this stunning “Edge of the World” destination.

Our 2014 schedule will be up in a few days. Please contact Sophia at 1-888-559-8318 for details.

We will also be offering five-day trips (without the flight) from approximately May 25th to May 29th and June 12th to 16th (specific dates to be confirmed). We need a minimum group size of four to make the trip go. May and June are fabulous months to visit Haida Gwaii. The herring have returned in March and April to spawn along the shoreline followed by halibut, large bird populations and occasionally orcas looking for an easy meal. In recent years the humpback whale population in Gwaii Haanas has been nothing short of phenomenal. In 2013 there were individuals and groups observed throughout the east side of Moresby Island feeding on large schools of krill. Huge population of seabirds are returning ashore to nest during April, May and June. The Laskeek Bay Conservation Society is active at time of year and trips ashore to their Limestone Island research station can be arranged.
